Y is for....

Grant is halfway through kindergarten and loves learning so much. He gets so excited when he knows his sight words and has begun sounding out words and reading words that are around him. He got an alphabet strip from his teacher and was looking at it over the Christmas holidays. This is what we overheard him saying...

P is for Pig

Q is for Quilt

R is for Rabbit

S is for Sun

T is for Tent

U is for Umbrella

V is for Vest

W is for Wagon

X (he skipped) what is that thing anyway? What ever happened to X Ray?

Y...... Y ....... Y is for CAT BALL!

Of course at that point his mom had to stop and say, "Y is for what?"

Grant replies, "Cat Ball."

Mom, laughing very hard after looking at the picture explained, "Yes, cats play with that, it is also known as Yarn!"

Grant keeps us laughing and we just love that sweet little boy!
If someone could tell me what X is Grant would appreciate it!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Holidays were a whirlwind and this was the best Christmas holiday ever! The kids actually got along and didn't fight as much as normal. We had a White Christmas which was absolutely beautiful! Our neck of the woods hasn't seen a White Christmas since 1947! Hope 2011 is good to you and your family.

Creative Cupcakes

Taylor loves to bake and saw these cute apple cupcakes in the Family Fun magazine. She decided to make them. They are pink apples but they're still delicious. Hope everyone is still loving school.

Who loves school bus exhaust?

I know I love to see that bus round the corner! School has started and structure has returned. Don't get me wrong, I love summer and the spontaneity but I thrive better with structure. So party over here, party over there...all 5 are finally in school!

We heart LUCASARTS

Star Wars is on the top of Grant's favorites list. His Dad is huge into autographs so the two came together and Grant got his first autograph. Grant wrote a letter and his Dad mailed it off.
Everyday after that Grant would ask, "Did I get any mail today?"

And our answer was always, "Not today."

Then the day finally arrived and he got his first autograph in the mail and to make it even more special it was inside a LucasArts envelope. The picture says it all!

More surprises

We have been in the new house almost one year. Surprises are plenty here and this time we found grapes and were able to pick tons today! We have always wanted grapevines. If you live close by feel free to come pick some.
